Nerissa is a wife and mother of two who has been blessed to be able to stay at home with her kids because of her transcript proofreading business that she has run for the past 5 years. When she’s not proofreading, Nerissa loves creating art and working toward her family’s homesteading goals by working in the garden and taking care of her chickens.
Community support assistant, Resident grammar guru
Kat resides in sunny Florida, the state that will forever keep court reporters and proofreaders employed, with her one son, one dog, and one husband. She started her proofreading business in 2022 and has since gained a diverse clientele from all over the country. In her free time, Kat likes to bake and cook and then eat what she bakes and cooks. She is a wannabe graphic designer, hot sauce lover, and a messy crafter.
Community support assistant, Research queen
Colleen spent her 20s traveling the US and Europe, teaching English in Austria for two years. She has settled down in pastoral New Hampshire with her three sassy tuxedo cats. Her proofreading business offers the perfect combo of freedom, word wizardry, and personal service that she’s been searching for in her career. She knows how far an encouraging word can go to help someone achieve their dreams. Colleen relaxes with watercolor painting and folk music.
Meet your coach
I’m Elizabeth, The Proofreading Business Coach. I’ve proofed in a lot of niches since I started proofreading in 2006 — and working with court reporters is the BEST. My clients are wonderful and reading true crime is a dream come true!
I love proofreading and all the freedom and flexibility it lets me have, all while getting to read for a living. But it didn’t happen overnight! I went through a LOT of trial and error as I tried to learn how to get clients and manage my business.
There’s no reason for you to have to start from square one like I did! I want you to have the awesome proofing life I have without having to figure it all out on your own. Stand on my shoulders and GO!
Media bio: Elizabeth Wiegner is a work-from-home proofreader, business coach, and freedomprenuer who teaches other readers and typo fixers how to build a life of freedom as a proofreader. Her energy, love, and personalized support are second to none in the proofreading world.
On a personal note, I recently moved out to a tiny country town with my husband so he could pursue his calling to be a pastor. It was a huge transition, but my proofing business allowed us to make that big switch (You can read more about that here.)! Since then, we’ve added 2 dogs, 29 hens, and 1 rooster to our family. Our 2 cats have graciously put up with the additions.
I love to Eurogame, ride my Peloton, watch crime shows, read mysteries and legal thrillers, and spend time with my best friend (and husband!), Jonathan.

Testimonials, feedback, and reviews are directly from students. They have not been compensated for their comments. Success/results/income is not guaranteed and can vary from student to student. Transcript proofreading is not a get-rich-quick business. It takes diligence, learning, and showing up for yourself to get the results you want. No course will give you the life you want to have unless you put in the work. Your success is up to you -- I'm here to support you!
