This phase is all about building the real-life experience and confidence needed to impress your future court reporter clients. By the end of Phase 2, you’ll master using your software, maintaining confidentiality, accommodating client preferences, and proofreading transcripts.
You'll practice on 3,200+ pages of real transcripts and receive 1:1 feedback to refine your skills. When you graduate, you won’t be a newbie! You'll be skilled and experienced!
At the end of Phase 2, after practicing proofreading real transcripts and going through your 1:1 feedback sessions, you’ll proofread a real transcript for your final exam. It’s hand-graded with detailed feedback, ensuring you have the skills to be a highly sought-after proofreader. This way, you can confidently connect with clients, knowing you’re the crème de la crème. I care deeply about you and your future clients, and I want you to graduate ready to go!
The court reporting industry is a highly skilled industry. Called the “guardians of the record,” court reporters are responsible for flawlessly transcribing the spoken word of legal proceedings — and it’s their proofreader’s job to help them make sure their transcripts are turn-in ready.
Transcripts are unlike any other writing material you may be used to proofreading. Because court reporters take down the verbatim written word, you proofread transcripts for readability rather than perfect grammar. It takes some getting used to!
Because court reporters form such a tightly knit community, your reputation is invaluable. Before you head into the industry, you must be trained in proofreading transcripts and understand the court reporting world so you can show up and be an exceptional proofreader.
I transitioned from being overworked and underappreciated in a toxic work environment to becoming my own boss as a transcript proofreader. Now, I help others learn how to achieve the same freedom and success for themselves!
Time to build real-life experience! Learn the ins and outs of proofreading transcripts so you will graduate as a highly skilled proofreader ready to connect with and impress your future clients!

Transcript proofreading doesn’t require a lot of supplies!
You will need a laptop/desktop or iPad, internet, and proofreading software. I cover your proofing software options (and how to use them) inside the course.
Pricing ranges from free to $9.99 depending on what you prefer to use. You do not need software until Phase 2. A grammar reference manual is required in Phase 2; it's less than $20 on Amazon.
Your state may require you to register your business and there can be some cost with that. That varies per state (I help you with those steps inside the course!).
There are other optional resources (additional grammar books/online subscriptions) you can purchase that I highly recommend inside the course.
You have access to the program for life, so the only time limit is whatever you want it to be.
Most students who are actively involved spend anywhere from 5-20 hours a week working through the course, attending the group coaching lives, and getting real-life experience under their belts with the transcripts inside the course.
I know everyone's schedule is different and you have a life outside of work and this course, so while it is an intensive course and you will have to show up for yourself to make it happen, I put everything and only the things you need to know inside the course to respect your time.
The multiple-choice grammar exam covers punctuation and spellings discussed inside the grammar masterclass. It is required to pass the grammar exam before moving on to Phase 2.
The transcript exam is a transcript you will proofread to demonstrate you are skilled as a proofreader and ready to work with clients. The exam is returned to you with personalized feedback so you continue to grow. It is required to pass the transcript exam before moving on to Phase 3. If you practice properly, you can pass both your grammar and transcript exam on your first attempt.
I don’t believe in making exams that are impossible to pass once you know what you’re doing.
The exams are there to demonstrate you know the practical, real-life skills you’ll need as a proofreader. I’d be doing both you and CRs a huge disservice to teach you how to get jobs if you aren’t ready to get jobs. Because the course is self-paced, you can practice as much as you like before taking your exams. The grammar exam is completely open book. The transcript exam is a real-life transcript.
There is no limit on how many times you can take the exams; there are retake fees to encourage you to take learning seriously.
With all the in-depth training, over 3,200 pages of transcripts to practice on, feedback sessions, and support from myself and other students and grads, there is no reason to fail if you apply yourself!
No. Per the terms and conditions you agree to when you enroll, your course login is for you alone, and you cannot share the contents of the course or transfer your account to someone else. Besides receiving access to the course itself, you also receive access to the community with individualized attention, live coaching calls, and the grammar exam, and as you progress through Phase 2, you also receive 1:1 feedback sessions and the transcript exam. These cannot be divided among two or more people. There are no refunds.

Testimonials, feedback, and reviews are directly from students. They have not been compensated for their comments. Success/results/income is not guaranteed and can vary from student to student. Proofreading is not a "get rich" and "get rich quick doing nothing" business. It takes diligence, learning, and showing up for yourself to get the results you want. No coaching, training, or course will give you the life you want to have; you have to put in the work. Your success is up to you!
